Gas Analyser Calibration
We recognise our customers need full confidence in their emissions monitoring systems.
CEM Solutions is first and foremost a service focused organisation. We understand the pressures that operators are under and the reassurance that a robust and reliable support partner can provide.
We ensure that support is there when it is needed and carry out a full and structured maintenance program, clearly identifiable through our scope of works and comprehensive work reports. Service visits are arranged at intervals to comply (as a minimum) with manufacturers recommendations and MCERTS certified intervals, typically quarterly.
Our in-house engineers have the experience and expertise required to service and calibrate your emissions monitoring instruments:
On-site Routine Service & Calibration
We ensure that support is there when it is needed, backed up by a full and structured maintenance program, clearly identifiable through our scope of works and comprehensive work reports. Service visits are arranged at intervals to comply (as a minimum) with manufacturers’ recommendations and MCERTS certified intervals, typically biannually or quarterly.
Functional Testing
Functional checks (as required by EN 14181), which include linearity, ensure that the equipment is operating correctly prior to a QAL2 or AST. Linearity checks are performed to verify the accuracy of the calibration at multiple points across the entire measuring range, typically (a random sequence of) 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100%. If any adjustment is needed the linearity test will have to be performed again.
This can highlight calibration or performance issues and help identify any upcoming service requirements of a gas analyser. We also perform H2O linearity checks as this component can sometimes be overlooked and it forms an important input to the overall measurement calculation.
QAL3 Testing
Regular testing of a gas analyser is recommended to monitor drift in calibration and to highlight potential issues. More regular testing will increase confidence in historical data.
It can be performed automatically or manually as frequently as desired. When using Shewhart charts, the frequency can be that of the certified maintenance interval. Where CUSUM charts are used, the testing should be done weekly. We advise on the most suitable regime based on each specific plant.
Remote Access - Dial in Service
A periodic ‘health check’ for your CEMS system – weekly, monthly or at another agreed frequency e.g. immediately after a QAL3. Let us connect to your system remotely, or simply send us a data file if remote connection is not possible, and we can interrogate the equipment.
A remote access CEM system check provides the following benefits:
- Perform / check QAL3s – gives operators the confidence that QAL3 data is valid and up-to-date
- Performance check – confirming instruments are operating as they should be
- Assessment of conditions – make preparations if required before a service visit to ensure parts are available
- Reducing time on-site for service visits – engineer site time is reduced as ‘pre-service’ checks can be carried out off-site and full scope of any required maintenance is known before the visit.

Spares
We hold a comprehensive stock of spares to support our contract customers in the event of a system breakdown.
We also provide spares packages to be held on site so that critical parts are available close to hand should they be required during a routine or unscheduled visit.
This belt and braces approach mitigates the risk of components being unavailable or on long lead-times due to increasingly unpredictable supply chains!
Gas & Regulators
We supply and manage site calibration gas requirements, including cylinder rental and the collection of empty / out-of-date gas cylinders from site. We can also advise on and supply calibration hardware, including regulators, valves, manifolds and solenoids.
