CEM Solutions (UK) Ltd have a complete portfolio of instrumentation required to comply with PG5/2 (25).

Process Guidance Note 5/2 (25) is the statuary guidance which must be used by local authority regulators to assess applications and write or modify permits for crematoria.

It is applicable for:

  • Air emission limits
  • Emission monitoring methods
  • Best available techniques to control air emissions

See the latest updates to the PG5/2 here - Crematoria: process guidance note - GOV.UK

Crematoria are a ‘Part B’ activity under the local authority pollution prevention and control (LAPPC) regime.

The CGA12 / CGA20 Gas Monitoring Solution has been specifically designed to help the Crematoria industry continuously monitor emissions from Cremators.

Both CGA 12 and CGA20 Crematoria Emissions Monitoring Systems have been designed specifically to exceed the requirements of this legislation and offer options that would allow expansion to encompass future updates to the Crematoria Guidance.

Foundries

Our range of Continuous Emission Monitoring Solutions meets and even exceeds the current requirements of the cremation industry.

CGA 12 / 20 systems adopt industry best practices and provides MCERTS certified gas analysers suitable for incineration and combustion processes. Although not explicitly required by PGN 5/2, this provides security should it become a future requirement. It also enables qualitative measurements to be made.

How can we help support applications in the Crematoria sector?

Complete Gas & Dust Continuous Emission Monitoring solution including:

  • Gas analysers to continuously monitor the exhaust gas of the cremator (CGA12 for CO & O2, CGA20 for CO, O2 & NOx)
  • Dust/Particulate monitors to continuously monitor the Dust/Particulate content coming out of the cremator
  • Data Acquisition & Handling System (DAHS) providing easy access to process data, daily trends and generating reports for compliance

Whatever the process, it is likely that a measuring system will be required. Furthermore, the CGA 12 System can continuously measure CO & O2 on two streams (cremators) without requiring a second gas analyser.

How can we help the crematoria sector?

Compact design

The system is supplied in a wall mounted cabinet, suitable for mounting in locations where space is at a premium.

Air Conditioning Module

By regulating the temperature inside the CEM panel, performance can be optimised.

MCERTS certification

Specified analysers are MCERTS approved, conforming to BAT across Incineration and Combustion processes. This gives the option of providing quantitative values that go above and beyond the qualitative that are currently specified.

Total Hydrocarbons (VOC) Measurement

We have allowed for provision of the addition of a VOC analyser. A suitable MCERTS approved gas analyser using Flame Ionisation Detectors (FID) is an option which can be added into the CEM system, either from the beginning or at a later date.

Data Acquisition & Handling System (DAHS)

CEMWare has been specifically designed to record data from Part B processes. Live data and trend data are available in a secure user-friendly interface. Automatic alarms can be configured and monitored both locally and remotely. This class-leading reporting package will generate periodic reports in the format required by the local authority.

Particulate Matter / Dust

Particulate monitors are available in various forms, tribo-electric probes are most popular for post abetment measurements, both qualitative and quantitative (certified) measurements are available (PFM13C & PFM20)

Secondary Combustion Oxygen (O2)

Industry proven zirconia based O2 probes can be supplied for combustion control, typically mounted in secondary combustion chamber, an essential measurement to control and improve combustion efficiency.
