CBCE 2026: Reflections from the Exhibition Floor – CEM Solutions (UK) Ltd

Jul 18, 2026 | Blog

The CBCE 2026 Conference and Exhibition once again proved why it remains one of the most important events in the cremation, burial, and bereavement services calendar. Over three days, industry professionals, suppliers, operators, regulators and thought leaders came together to discuss the future of death-care, share best practice and explore the challenges and opportunities facing our sector.

As exhibitors, the team from CEM Solutions (UK) Ltd were delighted to be part of the event and would like to thank everyone who visited our stand, shared their experiences, and took the time to discuss current and future environmental compliance requirements.

This year we showcased the addition of Fuji’s oxygen products to our portfolio, strengthening our complete crematoria emission monitoring solution. The FUJI ZFK8 / ZKM combo is already used on many crematoria sites across the UK as a secondary combustion Oxygen monitor.

Meaningful Conversations and Valuable Connections

One of the biggest strengths of CBCE continues to be the opportunity it provides for meaningful networking. From the opening exhibition sessions and networking events to the refreshment breaks and evening functions, there was a real sense of collaboration throughout the conference.

For CEM Solutions, these conversations are invaluable. We spoke with crematorium managers, local authority representatives, private operators, consultants, and industry partners, all facing similar challenges around emissions compliance, environmental monitoring, operational efficiency and future-proofing their facilities.

It was encouraging to see how much attention is now being given to sustainability, data-driven decision making and environmental responsibility across the sector.

Key Themes from the Conference

The opening day featured discussions on changing funeral expectations, the role of artificial intelligence within deathcare and the emergence of alternative and sustainable funeral practices. These sessions demonstrated how the industry continues to evolve in response to societal, technological, and environmental change.

Regulation was another major theme throughout the event. Presentations covering funeral regulation, Scottish regulatory developments, Law Commission updates, Ministry of Justice policy developments and the implementation of the new Crematoria Guidance Note PG5/2 (25) provided delegates with valuable insights into the direction of future compliance requirements.

Sustainability Remains High on the Agenda

As specialists in environmental monitoring and emissions compliance, we were especially pleased to see sustainability featuring prominently throughout the programme.

From discussions around new funeral practices and environmental considerations to sessions focused on updated guidance and regulatory expectations, it is clear that environmental performance is becoming an increasingly important consideration for crematoria equipment suppliers and its operators.

Many visitors to our stand expressed a desire for clearer data, greater confidence in compliance reporting and more efficient approaches to emissions monitoring. These conversations reinforce the importance of having reliable monitoring systems and expert support to help operators navigate a changing regulatory environment.

Looking Ahead

CBCE 2026 showcased an industry that continues to innovate while remaining focused on providing high-quality services for bereaved families. The willingness of delegates to share experiences, discuss challenges and explore new ideas created a positive and forward-looking atmosphere throughout the event.

At CEM Solutions UK Ltd, we left the conference feeling optimistic about the future of the sector and inspired by the commitment shown by so many professionals dedicated to improving standards, embracing innovation, and meeting environmental responsibilities.

We would like to extend our thanks to the organisers, speakers, and attendees for making the event such a success. We look forward to continuing the conversations started at CBCE and supporting crematoria across the UK with trusted environmental monitoring and compliance solutions.

See you at CBCE 2027!
