Gas Detection Solutions for Safer Environments
At CEM Solutions (UK) Ltd, we understand that safety starts with awareness.
Our gas detection packages are designed to identify hazardous gases before they become a threat to people, property, and the environment across industries.
Why Gas Detection is critical
Many dangerous gases have no smell or colour. Gas detectors provide real-time alerts to prevent accidents; exposure to low levels of toxic gases can cause serious health issues. Our systems help detect problems before they become critical, giving plant personnel time to evacuate a high-risk area before harm to health occurs.
Rapid leak detection also reduces emissions and environmental impact; catching gas leaks early avoids costly accidents, resource loss and operational shutdowns.
Applications across industries
Our gas detection systems are suitable for a wide range of uses:
Industrial Facilities
- Prevent hazardous leaks and ensure worker safety in waste processing plants, manufacturing plants, refineries and chemical processing sites.
Mining Operations
- Monitor underground gas levels like methane and carbon monoxide to protect miners in real-time.
Oil & Gas Sector
- Detect hydrocarbon leaks during exploration, drilling and production to minimise risk.
On sites where containerised CEM systems including VOC measurements are installed, CEM Solutions (UK) Ltd will fit the required gas detector to maintain a safe environment within the analyser shelter.
Areas where calibration gases are stored are also areas which will benefit from installation of gas detection systems.
For customers where data collection and analysis is an important part of process improvement, our gas detectors can be connected to our CEMWare data handling and reporting panel. This allows users to correlate any increase in measured levels with changes in operation, equipment load, times of day or materials used.
CEMWare can also be used to activate beacons at entry points to a building or control door locks to high-risk areas in case of a toxic release in a confined space.

Types of Gas Detectors we offer
We provide a range of gas detection systems tailored to specific applications or the gas species that are present.
Infrared (IR) Detectors
Using infrared light to accurately identify gases based on their unique absorption patterns, typically used for Hydrocarbons & Carbon Dioxide (CO2).
Photoionization Detectors (PIDs)
Detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with precision by ionising gases using UV light.
Electrochemical Sensors
Specially designed to monitor toxic gases by analysing electrical currents from chemical reactions, commonly used for species such as Carbon Monoxide (CO), Sulphur dioxide (SO2), Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Oxides of Nitrogen (NO & NO2) & Oxygen (O2).
