Oxygen / O2 Analysis

Efficient combustion relies on maintaining the correct balance between fuel and air. Measuring the O2 content within flue gases provides a clear indication of combustion efficiency, enabling operators and control systems to optimise the combustion process.

Continuous oxygen monitoring helps identify whether too much or too little air is being supplied, allowing adjustments to improve performance, reduce energy consumption and support cleaner combustion.

Benefits of continuous oxygen analysis

  • Improved combustion efficiency
  • Reduced fuel consumption
  • Enhanced process stability
  • Optimised air-to-fuel ratio
  • Support for emissions control
  • Reliable long-term combustion monitoring
  • Increased confidence in plant performance

Why choose us?

CEM Solutions (UK) Ltd has extensive experience in the application of oxygen analysis across a wide range of combustion processes. We maintain oxygen probes on several sites within the Energy from Waste (EfW) sector, where accurate O2 measurement is critical to maintaining efficient combustion, optimising boiler performance, and supporting emissions compliance.

Our engineers perform on-site maintenance on zirconia oxygen probes across numerous other industrial installations where FUJI, Emerson, Yokogawa, and ABB systems are installed. When it comes to quoting new systems, this wealth of knowledge enables us to deliver practical, application-led solutions tailored to each customer’s process.

For secondary combustion applications in crematoria, CEM Solutions (UK) Ltd is the official UK partner of FUJI Electric and their range of zirconia oxygen analysers. Designed for continuous, in-situ oxygen measurement, FUJI analysers provide fast, accurate and dependable monitoring directly within the flue gas stream, eliminating the need for complex gas sampling systems.

FUJI oxygen analysers

Renowned for their reliability and durability, FUJI oxygen analysers are well suited to the demanding operating conditions found in crematoria. Their proven, robust design, low maintenance requirements and long service life make them an ideal choice for both new installations and retrofit projects.

O2 levels can also be monitored by electrochemical cells for personal safety in confined spaces or where other gaseous species may build up, you can find out more on our Oxygen depletion monitors here – Electrochemical Sensors – CEM Solutions
