The exhibition “buzz” is BACK!
After weeks of preparation, designing a new stand, planning an engaging competition which included a model stack fabrication, ESS EXPO 2025 setup day was finally here!
Tuesday was an early start, loading the van to arrive at the NEC in time to beat the queue! Once inside, there were a few minutes of madness weaving through hi-vis jackets to find our plot before the unloading and building began.
The stand quickly came together – new boards and new Velcro went on like a dream!
After some deliberation over the competition stack and table & chairs positioning, we were done and it was time to see who our neighbours were.
There was a feeling of apprehension in the air – after what felt like a slow couple of days at ESS 2024, I kept wondering what this year’s show would bring with the inclusion of AQE, which in previous years had been a separate exhibition. One thing was for sure; it would bring more competitors!
The following morning, the carpets were finished, and the show was on!
I’m glad to report that this year’s ESS Expo DID NOT disappoint. From the minute the doors opened there was a buzz and a feeling of energy and excitement throughout the hall, resulting in two days of pretty much non-stop footfall; a balanced mix of existing customers, new enquiries and our friendly competitors and partners visited our stand, all being given the chance to “Pin the PFM13C on the stack” in this year’s competition.
Visitors were given a small magnet with a no. to place on the stack where they thought the PFM13C Tribo electric dust monitor should go. There were varying levels of skill to this – some were making measurements and calculations, some asking questions on the sizes and orientation and one was simply flicked across the stand and into position!
First prize was a charity donation of your choice based on £1 for every PFM13 pinned to the stack along with a ‘Taste of Chatsworth’ hamper. Second prize was a Chatsworth afternoon tea hamper.
With just over 50 PFM13`s pinned to the stack, we decided to round the charity donation up to £100.

Overall, it was a great couple of days, connecting with industry professionals and widening our customer network. Thank you to all of you that took the time to visit and talk to us about our products & services – we look forward to speaking with you again soon.
