If you phone or email us with an enquiry it is more than likely that you will be put through to James Gilbert, our Sales Manager. You could meet him in person at the Energy from Waste Conference in a few weeks’ time but in the meantime, let James tell us a little about himself!
How long have you been with us?
I’ve been part of the CEM solutions team now for almost 7 months and I’m so pleased to be able to say it feels like it’s been 7 great years! The days of thinking “what am I going to do today” are a thing of the past. There is so much activity in the sectors we specialise in; there is never a dull moment.
Is there something no one here knows about you (or very few people!) – a quirky fact!
Not a lot of people know that I have been hoarding commemorative 50p & £2 coins and hot wheels cars for about 20 years! I have a clear out every now and again but I still have a collection of hidden gems in the loft!
What does your role involve; what do you enjoy about it the most and/or what’s most difficult about it?
My role involves building relationships, finding opportunities and ultimately selling our solutions to customers within our desired sectors, EfW, Incineration, foundries, crematorium, glass furnaces to name a few. The euphoric moment is of course “closing the deal” but I enjoy the whole journey from enquiry to order! However, there is one thing that’s proving difficult to master, cold calling! Urghhh – if anyone has any tips, let me know!
When you’re not working what do you enjoy doing / what would be your ideal weekend?
Whilst not at work, I want to say I’m out on the mountain bike twice a week but a project in the garden has been keeping me busy for the last 8 months or so. It’s a shed that’s got out of hand, officially named “the banana bar” because there isn’t a straight cut or 90-degree angle in the place! Hopefully, it will be finished by summer so I can blow the dust off the bike and get back on the trails!
