Since 2012 we have developed a solid and thriving working relationship with a company manufacturing metal packaging for some of the world’s leading brands. Our collaboration began with the construction of their very first CEMS panel, which incorporated an NDIR analyser, gas conditioning system, a sample probe and a thermocouple. At the time, the site also utilised a third-party data logger to store all the collected data.
The existing data logger, running an outdated version of Windows, posed several challenges for the site. Its user interface was cumbersome to navigate and caused operational difficulties. Consequently, in 2018, a decision was made to upgrade the data logger to the CEM Solutions DAHS – CEMWare. This advanced solution boasts a user-friendly touch-screen panel, greatly simplifying tasks. Additionally, it offers an array of valuable features including reporting, trend plotting, historical alarm checks and more. These capabilities can be accessed directly on the panel itself, eliminating the need for data export and separate PCs for trend plotting and reporting.
The original CEMS panel was a resounding success and operated smoothly. However, in 2021, CEM Solutions and the site jointly determined the need for an overhaul due to the corrosion of the existing panel and an intermittent faulty chiller. While all other hardware and analysers remained unchanged, we took the opportunity to install a mini air-conditioner to stabilise the panels temperature in fluctuating ambient conditions
To ensure the long-term and uninterrupted operation of the system, we have a comprehensive service agreement in place. As part of this agreement, we conduct scheduled visits to the site three times a year. During these, we replace all consumable parts, perform zero and span calibrations of the system and conduct thorough functional checks on both the thermocouple and CEMWare. This proactive approach ensures optimal performance and reliability of the system, both now and in the future.
