I’ve been asking myself what’s most rewarding, setting up your stand at an exhibition or the exhibition itself?
This year at RWM, I’m glad to say it was a good balance. Good organisation at the NEC allowed for a seamless setup – in and out within the hour!
The morning of Day One was nothing less than manic, with visitor after visitor to our stand. It was a good mix of existing and potentially new customers from end users and plant operators to value-add partners from the Waste Management sector.
It’s encouraging to see that there is still a high level of activity in our core activities – CEMs and Process Control instrumentation hasn’t been totally overshadowed by Carbon Capture, although when it does, I can see this being a complimentary market with its own unique set of instrumentation requirements.
Footfall quietened off as we moved into the afternoon allowing us to make our way around the hall, speaking to other exhibitors, making introductions, and putting faces to names of people we had previously been in contact with.
The Dr Födisch CGA20 we had on demonstration got a high level of attention on Day Two, with Environmental Managers, EC & I Engineers & Plant Managers looking for alternatives to ageing or unreliable equipment. We made some great new contacts and had interesting conversations.
It will be interesting to see what next year brings. With the inclusion of AQE, I’m sure we will see representatives from a wider range of industrial sectors joining the existing Waste Management and Air Pollution Control professionals.
